Common faults of gasoline generators?

1. The no-load voltage of the gasoline generator is too low (for example: the line voltage is only about 100 volts)
(1) The excitation winding of the exciter is broken. Check that the exciter field winding resistance should be infinite. Replace the broken coil or connect the coil circuit.
(2) The main generator field winding is seriously short-circuited. Exciter field winding current is high. The excitation winding of the main generator is seriously heated, and the vibration is increased, and the branch current resistance of the excitation winding is much smaller than the normal value. Replace the short-circuit coil.
(3) The automatic voltage regulator is faulty. At rated speed, measure whether the output branch current value of the automatic voltage regulator is equal to the factory no-load characteristics of the motor. Overhaul the automatic voltage regulator.

Second, the no-load voltage of the gasoline generator is too high
(1) The automatic voltage regulator is out of control. The no-load exciter field winding current is too high. Check the automatic voltage regulator.
(2) The setting voltage is too high. Re-set the voltage.

3. Gasoline generators cannot generate electricity
(1) Wiring error Check and correct according to the wiring diagram.
(2) The excitation windings of the main generator or exciter are connected incorrectly, causing incorrect polarity. It often occurs due to wiring errors after the field winding is replaced. Should be checked and corrected.
(3) The rotating silicon rectifier element is short-circuited, and both forward and reverse are turned on. Use a multimeter to check the forward and reverse resistance of the rectifier component and replace the damaged component.
(4) The main generator excitation winding is disconnected. Use a multimeter to check and measure the excitation winding of the main generator. The resistance is infinite. The excitation line should be connected.
(5) There is a serious short circuit in the windings of the main generator or the exciter. The armature winding is short-circuited. Generally there is obvious overheating. Replace damaged windings.
